He wanted to kill her because he thought that she was a monster who had killed her mother. Jacob loves Bella and wanted to avenge her death by killing the thing that had killed her, thus he wanted to kill Renesmee.Wolves imprint pretty much on first sight so as soon as he saw Renesmee he felt the connection of the imprint take hold and he couldnt kill her. Supposedly at the stage in the movie, with Renesmee as a baby, the attraction and love Jacob feels for her isnt sexual. In the books its explained that if wolves imprint on young children they become part of their lives – like an older brother or a best friend – until the person they imprinted on is old enough and then if they both agree they become partners. So is Jacob going to marry Bellas baby? Ans – probably if she agrees that she wants to when she grows up!*** somebody mentioned Jacob choosing to imprint on Renesmee – imprinting isnt a choice, it just happens and Jacob couldnt have stopped it!**** Source(s): Twilight saga books Edited 3 days ago 1 person rated this as good ty..
